ECHO supports families affected by children’s heart conditions, who have been treated by Evelina London, Royal Brompton & Harefield and their networks of specialist local hospitals.
ECHO provides support from the moment of diagnosis, throughout every stage of their journey including any treatment and care pathway, or bereavement. The charity offers a number of practical services aimed at supporting these families, often when there is little other help available.
The Brompton Fountain
The Brompton Fountain supports children’s heart, lung and critical care across Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust encompassing Royal Brompton Hospital, Evelina London Children’s Hospital and partner hospitals.
We work with teams across all sites to ensure patients and their families receive specialised support and resources, whilst in hospital and at home, regardless of where the child is treated within the Trust’s network.
Somerville Heart Foundation
Somerville Heart Foundation is the only UK-wide charity supporting adults and young people as they transfer to adult services, with all forms of Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD).
We are here to provide many of their non-medical and psychological needs so they can lead as fulfilled lives as possible, as well as campaigning to make sure the health services are there for their physical needs.
Little Hearts Matter
Little Hearts Matter is the only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting and empowering anyone affected by the diagnosis of a single ventricle heart condition – or half a working heart. We support families along every step of their journey, from initial diagnosis, through treatments and into life at home.
Our core focus is to offer support and information to our members. However, we’re equally committed to raising awareness of our children’s conditions and the challenges these bring to their families. In doing so, we actively seek ways in which we can take our members’ voices into arenas for change.
